84. dodela Oskara

84. dodela Oskara, čiji je domaćin Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), će dodeliti svoje nagrade najboljim ostvarenjima iz sveta filma u toku 2011. godine. Sama ceremonija dodele ovih prestižnih nagrada će se biti održana 26. februara, 2012. godine u will honor the best films of 2011. The ceremony will take place on February 26, 2012. godine u Kodak Theatre-u u Hollywood-u, u Kaliforniji. Spisak nominovanih koji ulaze u konkurenciju za osvajanje najprestižnijih filmskih nagrada je objavljen od strane AMPAS-e, 24. januara 2012. godine.

Domaćin ovogodišnje ceremonije dodele Oskara će biti glumac Billy Crystal, a producent će biti Brian Grazer. Ovo će biti čuvenom glumcu deveti put da vodi ovu prestižnu svečanost. Inače, planirano je da voditelj bude glumac Eddie Murphy, ali kada je Brett Ratner napustio mesto producenta, istupio je i Murphy.

Nominovani

Spisak nominovanih za 84. dodelu nagrade Oskar je objavljen 24. januara 2012. godine u Samuel Goldwyn Theater-u, od strane predsednika AMPAS-a Tom-a Sherak-a i glumice Jennifer Lawrence. Imena samih dobitnka će biti objavljena 26. februara 2012. godine na samoj zvaničnoj ceremoniji dodele Oskara.

Za razliku od većine drugih kategorija za nominaciju, kategorije: Najbolja šminka, Najbolji film na stranom jeziku i Najbolji vizuelni efekti su imale više stepena koji su prethodili samoj zvaničnoj nominaciji. Za ove kategorije, grane Akademije su odabrale kandidate koji su bili na jednoj listi, pa su onda sa te liste odabarani oni filmovi koji su ušli u najuži izbor i koji su trenutno nominovani. Sa liste krajnje nominovanih kandidata, članovi AMPAS-a odabiraju pobednike. Tako je na primer lista kandidata u kategoriji Najbolja šminka sužena na svega 3 filma, od kojih će biti odabran pobednik.
